A notable addition is The Fat Badger, an acclaimed Yorkshire pub and restaurant known for its AA Rosette-quality dining, real ales, and vibrant atmosphere.

The Royal Whitby holds a special place in literary history too – Bram Stoker, author of the world-famous Dracula, stayed here during visits to Whitby in the 1890s. The town’s eerie charm and dramatic landscape inspired his iconic Gothic novel, completed and published in 1897. Today, a portrait of Stoker hangs in the hotel in tribute to its unique connection with one of the most enduring stories in English literature.
