The Resolution Hotel is an Edwardian listed building with numerous surprises for those guests lucky enough to be able to book a room. It’s one of the best located places to stay in Whitby, being just a short walk to the beach, harbour, Pannett Park and local museums.

Given the Hotel is named after Captain Cook’s famous ship, the naval themed decor is probably to be expected, though few hotels can blend a huge tropical fish tank, waterfalls and a full English breakfast quite so effortlessly.

To detail all that is available at the Resolution Hotel slightly misses the point… travel should be an adventure, life should be about surprises and trips to Whitby should be about enjoying each passing moment. The reviews regularly mention the friendly staff and the Suites that have televisions next to Whirlpool baths.

The onsite Restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike with a wide selection at prices more reasonable than might be expected. The same applies to drinks at the Bar.

If you just can’t miss those big sporting events it is also one of the few hotels in the area which offers the major sports channels for free in every category of room.
