The cottage is located at the end of the pretty hillside village of Glaisdale (only 15 minutes drive via the A171 from/to the popular coastal resort of Whitby).

This stylishly converted detached stone cottage (which retains many of its historic features) is located at the peaceful end of the village, opposite the River Esk. Accommodation

SUN ROOM: Take a seat in the triple-aspect sunroom and relax on the comfy, reclining leather sofa (with a glass of wine or cup of tea in hand) whilst spotting various garden birds through the large, panoramic windows.

KITCHEN: beautifully fitted, with AGA and high-quality modern appliances, ensuring you enjoy a relaxing rural retreat during your ‘home from home’ stay.

LOUNGE: comprises a comfy corner sofa directed at the large screened 4G Smart TV – great for watching movies. There’s a selection of games and books to enjoy, too.

BEDROOM: beautifully presented double bedroom with an electric Velux window overhead (so you can view the starry skies above) and built-in wardrobe and shelving.

BATHROOM: modern shower room (with rainforest shower and fold-down seat).

GARDENS: the cottage enjoys a south-facing rear lawned garden with patios and woodland view, plus a gas BBQ and outdoor seating for you to enjoy some alfresco dining. The front garden has a patio area to enjoy also.

GLAISDALE: This scenic, historic 14th Century Esk Valley village (formerly an iron ore mining village) is a popular choice for walkers and hikers alike, as Wainwright’s famous ‘Coast to Coast Walk’ runs through the village (Stage 12). There are other choices such as scenic river valley walks and trails, plus the ‘Glaisdale to Egton Bridge Walk’ too. Glaisdale is a popular choice for holidays/weekend getaways for those wanting to explore more of the exhilarating North York Moors National Park and the coastline. Be sure to cross over Beggar’s Bridge, a historical packhorse bridge (built over the River Esk back in 1619). The Museum of Victorian Science is another village attraction. Local amenities include a post office, grocery store, butchers and local pub. The Railway Station is only a short walk away. Hop on board and take a trip to WHITBY town. Also, there are plenty of moorland (“Heartbeat”) villages close by, such as Grosmont and Goathland, and quaint coastal villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay and Sandsend – all just waiting for you to explore and enjoy.

Be sure to visit WHITBY town to see the Abbey, famous199 steps, beautiful beaches, Pavilion (entertainments), and enjoy fabulous fish & chips. There’s so much to see and do, and so many eateries offering various cuisines. Bon appetit!
